Making of The BaanTower: the façade

This build update follows the façade of The BaanTower from the workshop to the tower. Blitta, supplier of aluminium façade systems, takes care of the supply, production and installation of the entire outer façade. From the very beginning the choice was to prefabricate as much as possible: the elements are assembled in the workshop, glazing and insulation included, and arrive on site ready to be hoisted into place.

On the tower the trades follow each other closely. Kersten attaches the balconies to the façade elements, after which Kolen installs the natural stone cladding. It all runs on a detailed schedule involving every party: you really have to work together, and that is how the building gets its appearance, floor after floor.
