With Bellevue, a new icon rises in The Hague, in the Central Innovation District, contributing to the ambitious densification of The Hague.
Bellevue seeks the balance between the scale of the station area and the fine grain of the historic city centre. The two historic façades will be preserved and given a meaningful place in the new design.

Ambitious densification of The Hague
The municipality of The Hague and RED Company are working with project partners on the further development of Bellevue: a new mixed urban project on the Bezuidenhoutseweg. Bellevue is the redevelopment of the site between Rijnstraat, Bezuidenhoutseweg and Oranjebuitensingel, in the Central Innovation District, within walking distance of Den Haag Centraal.
The plan is aimed at a mixed urban program with room for living, amenities, meeting and an attractive plinth, contributing to the ambitious densification of The Hague.

Architecture with grandeur
The design for Bellevue seeks the balance between the scale of the station area and the fine grain of the historic city centre. Two historic façades are preserved and given a meaningful place in the new design. They contribute to the characteristic atmosphere of The Hague’s historic centre and are valuable elements through their fine detailing and authentic appearance. The past stays visible while the city develops further.
In the design process, different variants are being studied to arrive at a strong fit in The Hague skyline and a pleasant building at street level. Insights from earlier participation rounds, such as attention for classic modern towers, green on roof and façade and a lively plinth, are part of the brief.
