A new landmark rises in Rotterdam. On the city’s most important axis at the Hofplein and Coolsingel, RISE becomes the symbol that makes the heart of Rotterdam beat again.
RISE will reinforce social cohesiveness with affordable housing for a broad range of users. Including integrated amenities with a strong focus on health and well-being.

Three towers on Hofplein
On Hofplein in Rotterdam, on the corner of Coolsingel and Pompenburg, RISE is being realised. Two plinth buildings are topped by three residential towers: the Coolsingel Tower, the Pompenburg Tower and the Hofplein Tower, at 286 metres the highest tower we have ever developed. Together they hold around 1,477 homes, half of them in the affordable segment, plus offices, a hotel and public functions in the plinth.
In RISE we realise multiple public functions, for residents and neighbouring residents alike. There will be social functions such as a health centre and a communal living room, but also affordable office space with room for makers and a number of assisted-living facilities for the elderly.

Climate-adaptive
Besides a rich combination of facilities and a varied residential programme, we pay a lot of attention to greening, climate adaptation and biodiversity. The roofs of the plinth buildings will have green roof gardens, including sports facilities that can be used by the residents of RISE. On the roof gardens we apply a number of climate-adaptive measures and encourage urban biodiversity with native plants.
“If you look at our development locations, such as RISE, they’re located in super-urban locations where we set out to create mixed-use projects. Projects that are buzzing with life, where people work, live, shop, and interact. These will become resilient locations that will be strong assets for decades, if not centuries.”
