Pouring the foundation of LEAD, until midnight
Film · July 31, 2026
On the LEAD site in Leiden, two levels below street level, the foundation of the towers is poured in one go. A continuous pour cannot stop halfway: once the first truck arrives, the concrete keeps coming until the slab is complete, which on this evening meant working through until midnight.
Developer Jonas Wilmink and Otto Jansen, COO of RED Bouw, walk us through the pour: the pump line into the pit, the crew spreading and vibrating the concrete, and the trucks queuing up on the Willem de Zwijgerlaan. Filmed by NO Media Company.
